Supporting details about Homeowners being banned from golf at The Meadows

After our post “Homeowners are being BANNED from our golf courses” members asked for more details and “proof”. Here is a summary of what happened and the proof available that support those facts.

Scott McLean (long-time Meadows resident, former TMCC member), has provided a sworn affidavit of the events he experienced at the Pro Shop on Friday Jan 30: LINK.
(Making a false statement in an affidavit is considered perjury).

Later that day (after the Pro Shop had closed), Board member Don Breece was made aware of the situation. Don called the Pro Shop Saturday Jan 31 at 8:18am. Don identified himself as a Board member, and said he was told that some residents were not allowed to play on the golf course. The staff member confirmed that was true. Don asked if he was on a banned list and she said “no”. Don asked if Doug Gleed was on the banned list and she said “yes”. Don asked if Jim Laidley was on the banned list and she said “yes”. Don asked what the reason for the banning was, and she said Don would need to speak with Jared. 

Jared Welikonich told Don there were two lists of residents who were banned from playing golf. Don said he assumed one for residents with delinquent assessments, but what is the reason for the other banned list? Jared said he did not know, only that he was told to do so by his superiors. Don asked if that was Chris and Frances, and Jared said yes. Don asked how many others were on this banned list and Jared said he was not at liberty to say but that Don should ask Chris and Frances.

Jared called Don back at 9:27am and Jared left a voicemail saying he was “instructed that there must have been miscommunication along the way and Mr. Gleed is allowed to play”. Jared did not indicate specifically where that instruction came from, and did not indicate if the new instructions applied to anyone else on the banned list.
