This is an open letter from a long-time Meadows resident who is a golf industry expert, and has golf companies who are very interested in operating our golf courses.
Taking on volunteer roles in any respect are an act of selflessness, combined with the desire to share your skills and be involved with a group of individuals with similar goals.
Our current president Chris certainly has had his hands full this past 10 months.
And devoted much of his time to our community.
And has exemplified very good marketing talents and warm letter writing in an attempt to bring our community together.
Unfortunately Chris has not taken the approach to work with his entire board team. Nor has he opened up to advice from golf experts or legal, financial specialists here in our community.
Much proof of this inaction now has been exposed to Homeowners in the contract terms.
This approach has resulted in our community facing a solution which clearly puts us at great risk for many decades to come.
Our need is help with our golf operations, and support to put us in a financially stable position as a corporation. That’s it.
Benderson has major storm water management challenges since the most recent hurricanes. We are the best and possibly their only solution. But that doesn’t mean it is in our best interests to be their solution.
Please Chris, for the sake of our community do the following NOW:
- Bring together a team of experts to work with you before putting us at great risk.
- Do not sign any agreement with Benderson at this time. They aren’t going anywhere.
- Meet with the two golf companies who have immediate interest in operating our golf courses.
- Get the Meadows and Groves open to public play immediately so we can bring in much needed revenue during a 5 month peak demand time.
If you feel this approach is not possible for you personally, then do what is best for the community: step aside to allow a team of resident experts do what the community needs done.
