New MCA/TMCC Lease is in place

We received a note from a subscriber that the new lease is in place as of early August (sorry for the delay in letting you know).

The subscriber requested a copy of the new lease, but unfortunately the MCA always makes it as difficult as possible for MCA Homeowners to get MCA documents. Rather than scanning it to a PDF and emailing it (would literally take MCA a few minutes to do), there is a time and resource consuming process to get a copy (actually just pictures of pages): MCA Records Inspection Policy.

We have no doubt that this is the most difficult they can make it according to state laws. MCA will characterize it as the process “required” by state law but these are always the minimum access required. MCA could and should make it easier for MCA Homeowners to obtain MCA documents.

It is the same as when the President says that 3 minutes speaking at a Board meeting is all that the state regulations allow. Of course it is the MINIMUM that the Board must allow. They are welcome to allow you to speak longer. They choose not to.

If someone could volunteer to obtain a copy of the lease and email the pictures to us at ForTheMeadows@SarasotaMeadows.com, it would be greatly appreciated. If you were able to scan the documents with a portable scanner that would be even better. Thanks in advance. Let us all know in the Comments if you are going to help out.

With all the recent storm damage we’re keen to know how much the MCA is on the hook for under the terms of the lease rather than TMCC. MCA is now the insurance policy owner hopefully it cover the damage. If our insurance policy costs go up it should be coming out of our net payment to TMCC for Renaissance Access (which is no longer free, but that is for another blog).
