Sending you this reminder because the MCA Board doesn’t include MCA Board meeting notifications in their regular Constant Contact event notification emails.
If you think that the MCA needs to change how it manages the recreational assets MCA Homeowners own (golf courses, tennis courts, pool, dining facilities), it is important to attend MCA Board meetings and let them know. The meeting is Thursday May 9 @ 2pm at at the Meadows Community Lifestyle and Wellness Facility.
There were a number of great comments made by MCA Homeowners at the last MCA Board meeting, and the Board did not address any of them. See April 11 MCA Board Meeting Recap.
Reminder that to speak at the meeting you need to sign-in at the meeting before it starts. The Board will limit you to 3 minutes (the least they can legally allow). Remember that when you have your time to speak, ask a specific question and press the Board to answer it. They are masters at deflecting and deferring rather than responding to MCA Homeowners.
In the last meeting the President was asked by 2 people, who is on the MCA “lease negotiating team”, but would not reveal that information. She did say that ONLY(!!!) 25% of the MCA team were TMCC members. That is probably better than 2018 when likely all of those “representing” MCA were TMCC members. But no one on the MCA “lease negotiating team” should be a TMCC member, or be related to a TMCC member. TMCC already has lots of representatives on their side of the table. It is a clear conflict to have any TMCC member on the MCA Homeowner side of the table.
Take this one hour a month to make a difference to The Meadows.
Maybe bring another MCA Homeowner to double the difference.
If you haven’t already, please read our “Legal Demand Letter Sent to MCA” post to understand many of problems with the current lease and the Board’s clear deficiencies in meeting their legal fiduciary duties to MCA Homeowners (to the benefit of TMCC). Then let the board know that you support the “Diaz Demand Letter” by emailing the MCA GM at francesrippcondi@meadowsca.com, and copying us at ForTheMeadows@SarasotaMeadows.com.
