This website is alive and kicking!

We’re rebooting the SarasotaMeadows.com website which Joe Moore created in his efforts to be elected to the Meadows Community Association (MCA) last year.

Despite Joe’s and Ken Ludwig’s great efforts it was not to be. After so much energy (and money) expended, Joe has taken a step back and we’ve taken over managing the website. We’re fellow residents of The Meadows, but for a variety of reasons we’re going to remain anonymous.

We’ll soon be sharing some pretty interesting information through the website. We hope you’ll help out by reading it and passing it on to fellow residents of The Meadows.

A little reminder of where we’re at:

  • We all want The Meadows to continue to be a great place to live.
  • We believe that having self-sustaining golf courses is important to The Meadows.
  • We think the MCA Board made a wise decision in 2018 to purchase the assets of The Meadows Country Club (TMCC), rather than have a third party purchase them for who-knows-what.
  • BUT in doing so, the MCA Board took on a HUGE new responsibility: Ownership of a large and complex golf, tennis and dining facility.
  • Instead of embracing this responsibility, the MCA Board passed control of the assets right back to TMCC, despite TMCC’s long track record of huge annual losses and being on the verge of bankruptcy. Then in 2023 the MCA threw in the new $4 million fitness facility too!
  • Instead of ensuring Meadows homeowners had transparency about how the MCA’s $10 million investment is doing, the MCA Board has enabled TMCC in hiding their financial results.

As the headline in the February 2024 Meadoword says “Knowledge is Power”. Don’t you think Meadows homeowners ought to know more to ensure our assets are being well utilized? We’d like to help with that.
